Editing tips

I have found a Guardian article named "How to edit your video" which gives a few general ideas as to how to edit a music video. A part i found  informative was:

"Use cuts from one shot to the next, with only perhaps the occasional dissolve. Don't be afraid to reorder the sequence of events if it makes more sense of the experience you are trying to present and try and keep it to a watchable length"

The main message i got from the article is basically to not overuse effects and to make sure clips are in an order that make sense.
