Evaluation Question 2: Part A Links Between My Main Product and Ancillary

Once I began work on my ancillary product I wanted to make visual links between my music video and my album cover, which is why I included this grey clouds in my album cover. Though it wasn't raining in our music video, we still filmed during winter when the skys were grey. But in our music video we still act happy and cheerful and do out door activities, like it was the summer. Which is why I included the rain drops of multi coloured peace signs, symbolising our band is a positive band and they dont let anything dampon their spirits.

 
However due to unreliable weather there were still shots in our music video that had a lot of sunshine which is why i chose to have a bright yellow background for my album cover. Also due to the fact the album title is A Pot Of Sunshine. But I thought adding that behind the rain couds could show the contrast of colour we had in our music video, what with some of the shots being bright due to the sunshine and other being a bit grey and dark due to the grey clouds.

One of the most obvious visuals i had to include in my album cover was the rubber ducks, due to them appearing frequently in our music video. The reason I copied so many and made an almost wave like pattern with them instead of how the appeared in the music video, was because our band is a quirky original band, which is why I wanted to make an abstract style of album cover. Hense copying multiple duck images and setting them out in wavy pattern as if they were swimming, like they were in our stop motion animation section of our music video.

Furthermore, in our music video there is a lot of colour through my costume changes, Claire and Emily's costumes and the different coloured ducks. Which is why I chose to add all these different coloured text for my front and back cover as well as my albums spine. Also I thought that my album cover should include a lot of colour not only because it was suggested to me by my teachers but also because I thought it would suit the image of our band, the quirky, fun, happy image our band. The image our band was portraying in the music video with the drinking to have a good time and playing on children's playground equipment
