Evaluation Question 2: Part B Links Between My Main Product and Ancillary
Also in our music video I made a few costume changes, which I wanted to incorporate in my album cover. While im wearing a different checkered shirt, it is still similar to the two I wear in the music video. Also I included the panda hat to keep the image of me being a fun loving silly character.
For my advert I wanted to keep it looking very closely like my album cover which is why included the same photo of my self getting rained on by rainbow coloured peace signs, so there was a very clear link between the advert and album so customers could recognise the album form the advert straight away.
That is why I also chose to make the text the same font as the font used in my album cover, to make connections between my album and the advert as well as adding to the visual representation of the band. Again the bright colours and funny photoshopped image of me to show people the kind of positive and cheerful band we are.
As well as making it fun and fitting to the image of our band, I also had to make the advert realistic, by incorporating things you would find on a real advertising poster such as quotes and ratings from real music magazines.
Also I added these social networking sites to show that our band is a modern band and they use the internet to promote them selves like other have before such as Lillie Allen. Which I thought would symbolise we are an independent band and not a main stream grime or rap artist.
You cant have an advert without mentioning where to buy the album so in the bottom corner I make it clear where the album is to be distributed, as well as adding the logos so people without having to even read it can identify where to buy the album from. Furthermore I included Itunes because it is a modern medium of song purchasing (other than online piracy).
