Soo we came in to the lesson last week each with a possible song..

Er the first suggestion (we literally only looked at it for a moment because well it) was a backstreet boys song and we only have one male in our group and only one member (I will not shame them here) of the group was in any way enthusiastic about the song...

The next song we all listened to was the one I had picked, 'Two doors down' by Mystery Jets, I thought that the beat would be really easy and clear to edit to and the way there is a narrative running through the song would give us a story line so we could put more of our focus in to making and planning the shots instead of the story. However again all males and we did like the last suggestion better...

The next suggestion was for Baba Oriley by The Who which was a great suggestion but again with the whole male part of it, there was no strong feeling from the group as to what we could do along to the song and the start to it is stupidly long and I feel like it would put an uneasy amount of pressure on us to come up with a concept which could work with a repetitive and long opening to the song and still keep the viewer interested and enjoying themselves. So yeah this was the second song to get voted off by the group but musically I love it!
AND FINALLY...

Every single member of the group could not disagree that Noah and the Whale's 'Five Years Time' would just be perfect for us, the song is enjoyed by all, and Laura Marling WAS in the band when the track was released so there are female parts in it, + there is a vague story line and we could all just think of so many things to put in the video that we just had to do it ! + I love the whole kinda folky pop side of the song which I think will make it stand out from other videos and the fun sound of the song means we can make a really fun video to go along with it. (Fun is a key concept in the song as you will find if you know it/ listen to it!)
Heres the song...
