Last year I learnt various technical skills such as editing using Final Cut Pro and transferring videos from the memory cards to the Macs. Final Cut Pro features which I learned were how to add markers, add effects, use velocity and a better understanding of editing. The use of markers helps to sync clips with the beats of the song. I also learnt how to use the program LiveType, this can be used to create text with animated backgrounds and special effects. LiveType is specifically for text and although final cut can add text, livetype allows for more manipulation of text. Effects that we used included the changing of colours of animated backgrounds and the warping of text. Another program I was taught was Handbrake which handles video encoding, this was useful to convert videos to MP4 format which would be appropriate for blogs.
